Maggie Lands New Role!

Maggie Jones, our wonderful and adorable actress in 10 Minutes, has just landed a role in the remake of Footloose, shooting here in Atlanta at the end of summer. She was cast alongside of her older sister, Mary Charles. According to their mother “they get to play sisters in the film and are cousins of the Lead actor. Not only do they get to act they get to sing and dance too. Fun Fun!!”
Congrats to Maggie and Mary Charles. Looks like we caught a true movie star on her way up.

Wrapped!
August 4th, 2010Apologies to all the missed opportunities for updates on production. Ideally you would have seen daily updates here during production, detailing all the insanity. Alas, you only get it on the flipside.
But the shoot for 10 Minutes wrapped around 8pm Sunday evening, August 1st – to a house-wide chorus of elation. After 5 grueling days, mostly locked into 250 square feet of 115 degree heat, we made it through. And we did it with the unwavering help of a cast and crew of amazing people. Our thanks is not enough.
Next phase is to dive head-first into post-production with a rough cut. No rest for the weary!

It Begins…
May 12th, 2010We’re just starting to gear up 10 Minutes, which means so far it’s just me scrambling with a million details late at night, currently trying to force myself to go to sleep. This is where lists and checksheets and the lot start coming in handy. When there is no momentum, you’ve got to start rolling little stones where you can. Hopefully enough people jump on board in the coming weeks to get this really moving (metaphors…mixing… it’s late…)
I did just register at SCAD as a potential employer, so I’m keeping fingers crossed for the set designer/prop master we’re looking for. Think: that genius person who can cobble together our beautiful time machine from bits of things you might find at the thrift store or garage sale. Just typing it gets the excitement brimming.

New Site online
May 10th, 2010Arclight Studios’ new website goes online today. We’re gearing up for a new short film to be filmed this July/August. We hope to have regular updates on the status as we gather people and resources. It should be an exciting project. The first narrative project in quite a while.
